For Owner and Hyatt Vacation Club® Sales Executive PJ Spencer, BEYOND was a perfect way to take his wife and their kids on a 20-year-anniversary cruise using their Ownership. 

“I look at points as a (way) to make memories,” says PJ, who has been working at Hyatt Vacation Club at Coconut Cove in Bonita Springs, FL, since 2017. 

PJ purchased his vacation ownership interests in Key West, FL, and Sedona, AZ, in the Portfolio Program shortly after he began working there. 

BEYOND was introduced to Hyatt Vacation Club Owners in 2023, and it was just in time for him to use his points for a special anniversary trip. 

He and his wife went on a cruise for their honeymoon 20 years ago, so it was the perfect way to mark the occasion.
 

His family sailed on the December 29, 2023, voyage of the Norwegian Joy, with stops in Honduras, Belize, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. 

They enjoyed ziplining for the first time at a water park in Costa Maya and took advantage of all the ship had to offer, from go-karts to laser tag.

“This ship is geared for families,” he says. 

In addition to the magical memories he and his family made on vacation, he says the booking process was easy and he is happy to share his experiences with others.

“We use our points four to five times a year,” he said. Some of his favorite destinations are in Florida, including Orlando theme park resorts that he books with exchanges through Interval International®. This additional opportunity allows Owners to reserve at more than 3,200 resorts in 90+ countries and territories including other select Hyatt Vacation Club resorts not included in your Ownership. 

One tip for travelers from Spencer: When making any reservations or changes to your cruise vacation, be sure to make them the same way you booked it – not directly with the cruise carrier. He said transactions must be made in the same way they were initially booked. 

But the key to enjoying the best vacations is just to plan them and then enjoy every minute. 

“Be sure to use your points,” he says. “After all, that’s what they’re there for.”
